Hosting games

I must be missing something because I am unable to host internet games from my phone. I have plenty of experience in opening ports and I have port 5123 opened and forwaredes to my cell phone... But it still shows that the game is closed to the internet... Is there a setting I should change in the game?

Shouldn't need to change anything in the game. I'm guessing your playing on wifi if you're forwarding ports to your phone, and the game is telling you that your port is closed. Also make sure you are forwarding tcp not udp like a lot of non-rts games use.

Do you have access to any outside connections you can use to check if the port is really open or closed? you should just be able to telnet to that port and see if it connects. If I'm on at the same time I can check it for you.

I'm almost sure I am forwarding both TCP and UDP. But I will double check. And I will check for that later tonight after work and report back. But I mean I have other ports successfully open and forwarded so I am not sure why I am having trouble with this game. I was having the same problem with the .97 and the new pre-release.

I had the same question you do. I figured it out with help of Denis.
(1) Download Port Forward app.
(2) forward to 5123 then try connecting.
It worked for me neighbor and i, great connection, no lag, no annoying messages.
