[MULTIPLAYER] HOW TO HOST A GAME

Hello all Warheads, this is a guide on how to host your own games, modded or not

--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------

METHOD 1:

> When you go to the "Multiplayer" selection instead of "Singleplayer", you can select a server from here to play in. The server must be the same version of the game you have already, in case you have an old version of the game. Also, hosted matches will specify what mods you need to play it

> In this case we're interested in hosting our own game, so we look for the server with "RELAY" in its "Host" slot

Image

> Once you get to the screen asking for room ID, you use 'new' for a vanilla server or 'mods' for hosting a modded server

Image

> Anyone who joins will need the new Room ID that's generated at the top right like a password

Image

METHOD 2

> There is another way to do this, manually connecting to it

> Instead of connecting to the RELAY servers, we will manually input the relay servers by going to "Direct Join" at the top left instead of choosing one of the existing servers on the list

Image

> Same steps from method 1 after that

> The ones you can put here are: asia1.relay,asia2.relay,us1.relay,us2.relay, vulkan.relay, vulkan.host (for Russian servers)

> Always use the one that has the best ping

> vulkan.relay can be used for hosting more than 10 players with special maps + special accommodations, meaning you can run Battle Royale gamemodes with many players

METHOD 3
OLD SCHOOL PORT FORWARD

> The old school method. Albeit difficult and most often only useable with a PC
> You would first need to identify your IP, using "Host" for a match will tell you it at top right
> If it says CLOSED to the internet, then you need to find your routers port forwarding options
>To do this, you need to go to your internet providers main control panel, find the IP address connected to the internet, and set the "Port" to 5123 or whatever it's set in your Rusted Warfare settings... this can even be to your mobile device
> If it says OPEN, then you have opened your port forwarding and are now hosting your match directly from your PC
Image

> This method is largely obsolete as it requires you have access to your control panels for your internet service and also to set any new devices you are hosting from. Relay is superior in every way

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps everyone who is not familiar with Rusted Warfare match hosting. Primarily you should use method 1, as it is the easiest. But all of these methods work. Remember though if you have mods installed and are active, everyone needs to have them down to the exact files being the same. If one unit in a mod has 100 HP and another has 115 of the same unit, it will not let everyone play
